The best way to immerse yourselves in French life is to visit one of the local village markets, they take place daily. It will allow you to savour the delightful regional specialities, food and wine. Market days are Friday in Riberac and Sunday morning in Aubeterre.
Aubeterre has a fabulous, safe river beach with a playground and grassed area. There is also a cafe and restaurant.
Le Manoir de Longveau is a 1 minute drive from la ferriere. It is a 9 hole par 32 golf course which offers a good challenge to golfers of all abilities. Bob doesn't need to be asked twice for a quick round!!

There are several riding centres catering for all ages and abilities in the area. Whether you just want a trek or fancy a lesson there is something for you. We can arrange this for you.
Lac Jamaye is a large lake about 25 mins away. There is a beach, playground, several shops and cafes. You can cycle round the marked paths or challenge yourself to something more strenuous like waterskiing!
